Student Development

The College Prep World Student Development program is designed to provide guidance and support to students and their families to assist in their athletic and/or academic development. College Prep World’s Student Development Program focuses on training students and their families on how to achieve academic success, set goals for their academic as well as personal future, career development and identify a college that will best address their personal and professional needs. The College Prep World staff is fully prepared and committed to the overall development of students by providing educational programs and service opportunities in areas such as academic excellence, athletics excellence, personal development, service and career development. Life Skills/Mentoring Program

Each student that participates in College Prep World’s Student Development program will be assigned a mentor that supports the participants’ growth and development.  The mentor and mentee communicate regularly to ensure their classes meet the academic criteria needed to graduate. (read more...)

SAT Information

The SAT (or the ACT) is the test used by most colleges to help decide whether to admit students or not (along with GPA, transcript, recommendations, etc.). Not all schools require the SAT (or ACT), but the great majority do.  The PSAT is mainly a practice test. It’s very similar to the SAT, but without the essay and some algebra. However, a high score on the PSAT is the only way to qualify for a National Merit Scholarship, and a good score can also qualify you for some scholarship money.  So don’t blow it off. (read more...)

So, you are thinking, “How do I pay for college?”  If you have already set up a plan and started saving early, then you have nothing to worry about.  However, if you are like most Americans and have no savings and no plan already set up, you’re now thinking “oops.”  Now it is time to consider financial aid.  What is financial aid?  Financial aid is a general term for assistance given in the form of money.  Financial aid is provided to a student for any type of postsecondary education (four-year college, two-year college, trade and technical schools).
