Overview
This program was created by Collegeprepworld (“CPW”) to allow parents and families to better monitor, analyze and identify potential and actual problem areas in their students’ academic progress. The program is designed to pair you with one of CPW’s specialists to monitor the academic progress of your children. Due to the ever increasing amount of information available to parents and their added responsibilities, CPW wishes to lend its expertise in guiding you along the academic path to success.
Developed 4 years ago, this program is an active combination of parents, students and school participation, which CPW calls “The Triangle of Success”. All 3 components work together to create a model for success. Think of your CPW specialist as your guide to success. Your specialist is trained to know colleges and the college process. CPW doesn’t just help your children get to college – CPW specialists are college specialists.
How does the program work?
The program links the entire “Triangle” together. First, your specialist will meet with you to assess the following:
- Type of curriculum desired;
- General interests of study; and
- Any potential problem areas, i.e. teacher personality, guidance counselor, etc.
Next, your specialist will meet with you and the guidance counselor to explain the goals and objectives, college early admission, ROTC, 4 universities, community college, etc.
Finally, your specialist will meet with the guidance counselor and the teachers of each of the subjects to establish a relationship and set up a procedure for disseminating information (Email, conferences, etc.). Every 2 weeks, you are given a progress report updating the following:
- The academic progress of your child;
- Any upcoming projects and tests/exams;
- Any behavioral issues within the classroom; and
- Any deficiencies reported by the teacher (study skills, test preparation or time management).
After you receive the update, your specialist will meet with you, and, if necessary, can meet with the student.
All results are confidential and private to the families involved.
Why use this service?
This program will benefit you and assist you in monitoring your students’ academic progress. Although, most guidance counselors are well equipped, the fact of the matter is there are too many students for most guidance counselors to really monitor as actively as CPW can. CPW works with you as a liaison to help both the guidance counselors and the families.
CPW also does research in the case of transfers or relocation. CPW is a specialist in education and will assist you with choices regarding your student’s education.
Your specialist will also research private schools and other alternatives for schooling. Your specialist will be knowledgeable on rezoning and all other community issues regarding your student and their education
